Holiday in the Passeiertal – peaceful, authentic and close to nature

The Passeiertal is one of the most unspoiled regions in South Tyrol. Compared to nearby Merano, guests here experience above all peace, nature and plenty of space. The area around St. Leonhard offers ideal conditions for a relaxing holiday: hiking and walking trails start directly from the hotel, a golf course is located nearby, and Merano can still be reached within a short time. Many guests particularly appreciate this combination of retreat and variety.

Our personal hiking recommendations around St. Leonhard

Nature begins right on the doorstep of Andreus Resort. Particularly popular are hikes in the Hirzer area, which can be reached quickly via the Hirzer cable car from Saltaus. For leisure hikers, we recommend alpine walks with traditional mountain huts, such as Ulfas Alm, Egger-Grub-Alm or routes towards Pfelders and Lazins. Those looking for more challenge will find ideal conditions along the Jaufen ridge or on summit tours such as Hirzer peak, Matatz peak, Fleckner peak or Jaufen peak – all manageable for experienced hobby hikers. Another highlight is the Merano High Mountain Trail with impressive panoramic stages.

Canyoning

As you follow the river through the gorge, nature shows its most beautiful side. Gorges turn into slides, ledges become diving boards, rock pools become whirlpools. Crossing a gorge while canyoning with climbing and white-water equipment is an indescribable feeling during an active holiday in South Tyrol.

High ropes course

Push yourself to your limits and rise above yourself on the high ropes course in the Passeier Valley. You’ll swing from one tree to the next at a height of around 15 metres, overcoming a wide variety of obstacles and pulling yourself up on free-hanging nets and ropes. You’ll cross rickety bridges, climb via ferratas and just hang around on an active holiday in South Tyrol. Our guide Erwin Mairginter takes children aged eight and above on a tour of the high ropes course.

Paragliding

Feel as free as a bird and fulfil your dream of flying – with paragliding in South Tyrol. Float silently over treetops, meadows and houses with your paraglider and enjoy absolute freedom. Paragliding doesn’t require any special athletic skills. All you need are good shoes and warm clothes. Before you take off, you need to take a run-up of 10 to 15 metres. We organise the tandem flights in cooperation with the Ifinger tandem club.

Rafting

Experience an adventurous white-water rafting trip on the Passer river with the spellbinding backdrop of the mountain peaks and forests of South Tyrol. Conquer the river and its rapids in rafting craft and enjoy the sights of the varied landscape of the Passeier Valley. A rafting trip is an extraordinary experience for adults and children aged ten and above.
